Amazon India integrates logistics network with ONDC

The cooperation aims to expand support to sellers.

Amazon India has expressed plans to integrate its logistics network and “SmartCommerce” services with a private non-profit company established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Government of India, the company said in a press release.

The cooperation with Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) seeks to provide greater technology support to the seller community and expand offerings to consumers, Amazon said.

SmartCommerce is a suite of SaaS products powered by Amazon Web Services that seeks to enable micro-, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in India to build and scale their business across digital mediums, the company said.

Amazon expressed plans to explore other opportunities for a stronger integration with ONDC.
