Amazon India launches new fulfilment centre in Bihar

It can store tens of thousands of large appliance products.

Amazon India has launched a new specialized fulfilment centre (FC) in Bihar ahead of Prime Day, specialized to store and process customer orders from the large appliances and furniture category, according to a press release.

Located in Patna and with a storage capacity of close to 300,000 cubic feet, the FC will house tens of thousands of large appliances consisting of air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, and from a selection of products in the furniture category.

More than 11,000 sellers in the state are expected to benefit from the expanded network with a wider selection and faster deliveries.

Prime day will be held in India on 26-27 July, delivering deals and savings across categories, including consumer electronics, appliances, Amazon devices, fashion and beauty, home and kitchen, furniture, everyday essentials and more to Prime members, along with new launches.

The expansion in Bihar is a part of the company’s plans to expand its pan-India fulfilment network by close to 40% to provide a total storage capacity of 43 million to its sellers, across India.
