Amazon names new India country manager

He will continue overseeing Amazon’s consumer businesses in the Middle East, South Africa, and Turkey.

Amazon has named Samir Kumar as its new country manager for India.

Kumar, who has been with Amazon since 1999, will take on the role effective 1 October. 

In addition to leading India, he will continue overseeing Amazon’s consumer businesses in the Middle East, South Africa, and Turkey.

Kumar was part of the original team that launched Amazon.in in 2013. 

As part of the leadership shift, Amazon India's top team, including categories, everyday essentials, marketplace, and growth initiatives, will now report directly to Kumar.
