Deliveroo cuts commission rates for pickup orders in Hong Kong

Around two-thirds of new partner restaurants have joined the pickup service.

Deliveroo has reduced commission rates in Hong Kong to 5% for pickup orders until June, in response to social distancing measures being implemented by the government, according to a press release.

The reduced commission will apply to all Deliveroo partnering restaurants. This aims to help F&B providers across Hong Kong to generate additional revenue, enhance service to new and old customers alike, and support social distancing.

Over 1,500 new restaurants have joined Deliveroo since January, with 60-70% of them opting in to join the pickup service.

Deliveroo launched pickup services in April, which allows customers to skip the delivery fee and pick up their meals without standing in line.
