Deliveroo rolls out tipping function

This will match the first 10,000 customer tips until 1 June.

Deliveroo will launch a new tipping functionality for consumers who opt to add a tip to their order in support of their local restaurants on 15 May, according to an announcement.

The platform will match the first 10,000 tips up to a total combined sum of $30,000 for all of Deliveroo’s contributions, whichever occurs first, from 15 May to 1 June. The full amount will go directly to the restaurant and will not be subject to any commission.
.
Ahead of the tipping functionality launch, Deliveroo has published a detailed guide on how restaurants can run delivery-only and takeaway outlets safely and developed online marketing tools for restaurants to let customers know they are operating delivery services.

Deliveroo has also introduced a new weekly payment service for its restaurant partners to improve cash flow.
