DFS, Douyin partner to boost luxury travel retail shopping experience
Both entities organised two successful livestreaming events, showcasing over 80 beauty products.
DFS Group has elevated its partnership with leading short-video platform Douyin Life Service, making the luxury travel retailer its first cross-border retail partner.
The two entities have unveiled over 80 beauty products, encompassing skincare, cosmetics and perfumes, during a livestream event.
Viewers of the livestream event are given access to purchase convenient, HKD-based coupons with RMB, helping customers redeem for purchases at all four DFS stores in Hong Kong. The event was made available to over 600 million Douyin users, wherein customers interacted with livestreaming hosts and purchased their chosen items. In addition, Douyin users can subscribe to their “DFS Global Travel Shopping” account and join the event simultaneously.

As a result, both DFS and Douying Life Service have attracted high-spending cross-border customers, with 30% of its revenue accounting for new customers.
With the success of the first livestreaming event, DFS organised a second round on 2 and 3 February 2024, showcasing more tailored shopping experiences, iconic products from different beauty categories and personalised services for customers from professional hosts. Both entities have planned to expand to Macau, allowing Douyin users to purchase cash coupons from Macau DFS stores and avail of quality products.
