Foodpanda, Endowus offers financial training to delivery partners

Webinars with topics like financial planning, CPF and SRS will be organised for the delivery partners.

Foodpanda Singapore has partnered with digital wealth platform Endowus for the provision of financial education resources for delivery partners.

For the fourth quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, Endowus will be hosting webinars for delivery partners on topics like financial planning, Central Provident Fund (CPF) & Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS) investing, retirement planning, and money management.

On their support for educational webinars and curated resources, both entities will develop accompanying resources that can be available online through Endowus’ financial literacy content hub and YouTube channel.

Endowus is also providing a free trial of its service for Foodpanda delivery partners, allowing them to invest without cost a year, for up to $10,000.

Gaining sufficient knowledge about healthy financial practices is seen as essential for platform workers, given rising costs of living. In a recent survey by Endowus, nearly two in five see basic living expenses as their top financial priority, and a majority of respondents regard it as their biggest challenge to achieving financial goals. Around 61% have revealed that their financial knowledge is sufficient, while nearly 40% say that their financial knowledge is low.

“Saving and planning” was seen as the most important money management topic by most respondents, followed by “Using CPF effectively to achieve goals” for retirement and medical expenses.

“We recognise that our delivery partners have varied needs, and value the flexibility provided by platform work to pursue their ambitions. In helping them achieve their goals, we have consistently invested resources and implemented different programmes, including upskilling opportunities and in-depth workshops on financial literacy,” Lawrence Wen, CEO of Foodpanda Singapore, said.
