Gojek accepts ZaloPay for food delivery services in Vietnam
There are around 11 million ZaloPay users in the country.
Indonesia-based superapp Gojek has partnered with Vietnam-based online payment platform ZaloPay, allowing users to pay using the platform for on-demand food delivery services.
In a statement, BMI added that Gojek plans to extend the partnership to other services popular in Vietnam such as ride-hailing services GoRida and GoCar, and logistical delivery services GoSen by early 2024.
According to BMI, ZaloPay is one of the most popular e-payment platformers in the country with over 11 million users.

The partnership will benefit users from urban areas, according to BMI noting that 39.5% of Vietnamese live in urban areas and is expected to increase to 44.5% in 2030. These consumers “typically boast higher disposable incomes.”
“The partnership between ZaloPay and Gojek will therefore primarily benefit users in urban regions in Vietnam where consumers are likely to be both users of e-payment services such as ZaloPay and also the disposable income to support the demand for food-delivery services such as those offered by Gojek,” BMI said.
“The further integration between the two firms will contribute to the wider convenience appeal for both companies as Gojek will be able to differentiate itself from other competitors in the market such as Grab by offering more payment options while ZaloPay can also expand their merchant pool to entice consumers away from other payment platforms such as Momo, ShopeePay and GrabPay,” BMI added.
