JD.com CEO steps down

Lei Xu will be replaced by CFO Sandy Ran Xu.

JD.com CEO and Executive Director Lei Xu resigned after only serving for around a year due to personal reasons.

In a statement, JD.com said Xu will serve as the first chairman of the advisory council of the company.

Xu will be replaced by Chief Financial Officer Sandy Ran Xu. She has held her current position since June 2020.

The new CEO joined the company in 2018 and managed group finance, accounting and tax functions on top of serving as the CFO of JD Retail from July 2018 to May 2020.

JD Logistics CFO Ian Su Shan, meanwhile, will be promoted to JD.com CFO.
