Money-saving deals drive SG e-commerce shoppers’ purchases

A total of 62% cited discounts and sales as their top priority in their store selection.

Around three in five e-commerce shoppers in Singapore identified discounts, promotions, and sales as the top priority in selecting stores to buy from, showing their inclination for money-saving opportunities, a survey by Amazon Singapore found.

In a statement, Amazon said the survey it conducted with YouGov also found that 61% of the respondents indicated their desire for value-for-money products, citing the importance of offering high-quality products at reasonable prices.

The survey also found that 59% that consumers actively compare the prices in various stores to ensure they get the best possible deal.

“Consumers are actively seeking cost-effective options and are willing to explore different stores to find the best deals,” Amazon said.

“This consumer demand for value demonstrates the need for e-commerce stores to curate products that deliver a balance between quality and affordability,” it added.

The report surveyed 1,058 Singapore residents.
