Rakuten and Thailand join hands to showcase Thai products

Rakuten Ichiba is set to become Japan's first e-commerce platform with an official TOPTHAI store.

Rakuten Group and Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) have inked a memorandum of understanding to boost sales of Thai products.

Through the "TOPTHAI" project, Rakuten will represent Japan as the 10th partner to increase awareness and sales of Thai goods. The project, led by DITP, is currently rolled out in nine countries and regions around the world.

Rakuten Ichiba, Japan’s premier online marketplace, will host the official TOPTHAI store, becoming the first e-commerce platform in Japan to do so. It will serve as a hub for showcasing a diverse array of Thai products, alongside recipes utilising Thai ingredients and seasoning.

To kick off the collaboration, the TOPTHAI Product Exhibition is scheduled to run from 10 May to 10 July 2024, offering shoppers exclusive discounts and coupons redeemable with purchases.
