Lazada Group appoints Chun Li as group CEO

He was the company’s co-president and Indonesia CEO.

Lazada Group has appointed Chun Li as the group chief executive officer (CEO), a media release revealed. He will succeed Pierre Poignant, who will become special assistant to Alibaba Group chair and CEO Daniel Zhang.

Before the appointment, Li was appointed co-president in June 2017 and was also named Lazada Indonesia CEO in July 2019. He became the group's president in December 2019.

He graduated with bachelor’s dual degree in mechanics and economics law from Peking University, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio State University. He joined Alibaba Group in 2014 as chief technology officer for its B2B business unit.
