Reliance Brands brings Balenciaga to India

The company will be the sole India partner of the luxury brand in India.

Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) has entered into an agreement with Balenciaga to bring the luxury brand to India.

Under the strategic agreement, RBL will become the sole partner of Balenciaga in India.

“Few brands have actually embraced the opportunity for creative reinterpretation and reinvention quite like Balenciaga. Their avant-garde and ingenious creations, bold use of the logo, and a consequent cult in the fashion industry has already created a strong footing throughout the world,” Darshan Mehta, MD of Reliance Brands Limited, said.

It’s the most opportune time to introduce the brand to the country as the Indian luxury customer has matured and using fashion as a form of creative expression of their individuality.”

Balenciaga was founded by Cristobal Balenciaga in 1917. It currently features collections across women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, and objets d’art.

Meanwhile, prior to its partnership with Balenciaga, RBL was also picked by Italian luxury lifestyle business Tod’s S.p.A, and another luxury brand Valentino as their official retail partner.
