Reliance Brands, Rahul Mishra partner to bring new exclusive RTW collection

The JV plans to have dedicated flagship stores at fashion capitals in the next 5 years.

Reliance Brands Limited (RBL) has entered into a joint venture with Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra to create a new brand that will bring an exclusive Ready to Wear Collection at global fashion weeks.

The joint venture plans to also launch on an international fashion week platform as well as to have a worldwide footprint with dedicated flagship stores at fashion capitals around the world in the next 5 years.

“Rahul Mishra’s flawless contemporary design sense and stunningly intricate pieces have spotlighted Indian expertise in crafts globally,” Isha Ambani, Director, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd. (holding company of all retail companies in Reliance Industries Limited group), said.

“Accompanied with his expertise in leveraging international fashion forums to accelerate brand building and creating a global customer base, it’s the perfect secret sauce to co-create a global brand.”

In 2020, Mishra became the first Indian designer to present at the Paris Haute Couture week. Prior to this, he was also the first Indian designer to win the Woolmark Prize at Milan Fashion Week in 2014.

“Reflecting on the critical and commercial success of Rahul Mishra couture collections, it has been our desire to equally focus on ready to wear business and extend our universe by democratising the fashion cultivated by us,” Mishra said

“With this partnership for the new brand, we are sure of achieving mindful growth while giving the process its due attention and care.”

Mishra will lead the new brand as its Creative Director.
