Dairy Farm Singapore partners NETS and UOB to implement new unified POS terminals

Dairy Farm Singapore Group (DFSG) recently announced a partnership with Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) and United Overseas Bank (UOB) to implement the single largest installation by a supermarket group of unified point-of-sale (POS) terminals in Singapore.

Through this partnership, 2,000 POS payment terminals will be installed in 2017 over 650 stores across Cold Storage, Market Place, Jasons, Giant, 7-Eleven, and Guardian Health and Beauty stores.

This is following the successful pilot of the Unified POS system at two stores – Giant hypermarket at Tampines and Cold Storage supermarket at Tampines One in November 2016.

The partnership marks one of the largest deployments of unified POS terminals in Singapore, enabling a reduction of 20% to 30% (or nine to 11 seconds) in the time required at checkout counters. It will improve productivity with savings of 106 hours a day for all the stores.

The Unified POS system supports a comprehensive range of payment modes – NETS, NETS FlashPay, ApplePay, Android Pay, Samsung Pay, UOB Mighty Pay, and EZ-Link in addition to credit and debit cards.
