IKEA and Australia Post enter three-year strategic partnership
It is expected to further expand IKEA’s delivery footprint in Australia.
IKEA and Australia Post have entered a three-year partnership to enhance IKEA's delivery services across Australia.
Under the deal, Australia Post will handle about 65% of IKEA Australia's parcel orders, which exceeded 500,000 in FY24. It is set to launch in October.
The partnership aims to expand IKEA's delivery reach, particularly to remote areas and regions outside metro zones. Customers will also benefit from the option to pick up parcels at local Post Offices.
"As an omnichannel retailer, our goal is to bring IKEA to more people, in more ways and in more places, making it easier and more convenient than ever before for Australians to shop with us to create homes they love,” said IKEA Australia CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer, Mirja Viinanen.
The partnership will see Australia Post deliver over 250,000 IKEA parcels annually, offering both Parcel Post and Express Post options.
Moreover, the collaboration also supports sustainability goals, with Australia Post leveraging its electric delivery vehicle fleet to contribute to IKEA's zero-emission delivery targets.
