41st Foodex Japan 2016 showcases Japanese F&B and halal supermarket
The 41st Foodex Japan 2016, to be held from March 8-11 this year in Makuhari, Messe, Tokyo, Japan, is expected to draw 80,000 trade visitors (77,361 trade visitors visited the show last year). Some 3,000 exhibitors, of which 60% are international exhibitors, will be present at the show.
In Hall 3, visitors can enjoy a display of the awarded wines from the 3rd Sakura 2016 wine competition, one of the biggest wine competitions in Japan, with the Diamond Trophy to be awarded on the show’s opening day.
Set to take place in Hall 3 is the Beer & Local Food Festa. This presentation of Japanese culture through the pairing of beer and local food is a three-day event, held from 12pm daily.
In Hall 6 in the Kanpai Japan area, trade visitors can explore Japan-origin drinks such as sake, wine, beer and more.
Meanwhile, in Hall 9, seminars (in Japanese and English) touching on topics such as organic and wellness, tea and coffee, latte art, and whole foods will take place.
Visitors can also partake in an urasenke tea ceremony — a traditional Japanese tea ceremony demonstration that will be performed at the Trend Stage.
Another highlight at the 2016 show is the Foodex Japan Halal Supermarket showcase — a collaboration between Japan Management Association (JMA), the organiser of Foodex Japan, and Malaysian-based DagangHalal, with the theme ‘Halal Supermarket: Experiencing Halal Japanese Hospitality’.
The halal supermarket is set up for exhibitors to gain maximum branding exposure and business opportunities via a single platform for the ease of sourcing and promoting quality halal products over the four days of Foodex Japan 2016.
