Hong Kong’s Redress opens first permanent secondhand clothing shop

It is hosting a photo contest with gift certificate as prizes.

Hong Kong-based environmental charity Redress is launching its first permanent shop called The Redress Closet, a curated secondhand clothing and accessories store, in Sham Shui Po on 14-16 May, the organisation has announced.

The organisation has been holding secondhand pop-ups in the past decade, aiming to reduce the city’s clothing waste.

To celebrate the opening of the permanent shop, Redress is hosting a photo contest where customers can post a picture of themselves in their favourite purchase from The Redress Closet to win a gift certificate of $64.38 (HK$500) to shop at The Redress Closet.

In addition, celebrity stylist Cheryl Yam will make a special appearance for complimentary styling sessions for those looking to stage creative fashion photos, as well as to provide expert fashion advice and help shoppers style their pre-loved finds.
