The fast food chain currently has 16 stores in the country.

NYSE-listed fast food chain Shake Shack and licensee Maxim’s Caterers have expressed plans to open 10 Shacks in new territories by 2031, including locations in Sichuan, Chongqing, Yunnan, Hubei, Shaanxi, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou, according to a press release.

The new agreement between the two companies ramps up their development commitment in China to 79 by 2031. There are currently 16 Shacks open in China, and its Hangzhou location will come later this year.

Shake Shack’s chief global licensing officer Michael Kark noted that China remains to be the company’s fastest growing international market.
