Ricola brand wins consumer, industry awards
Renowned for more than 80 years for producing good-quality natural herb drops that soothe the throat and refresh the mouth, Ricola, the family-owned Swiss company, has recently garnered two prestigious awards — ‘Most Trusted Brand 2016’ in Switzerland and ‘Prize for Long-Standing Product Quality’ given by Reader’s Digest and The DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts- Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society) respectively.
Every year, Reader’s Digest conducts a representative consumer survey to determine and analyse the most trusted brands in seven European countries. In Switzerland alone, there were 1,800 consumers who participated in this survey and Ricola was chosen as the ‘Most Trusted Brand 2016’ for the confectionery product category for the ninth year in a row.
In addition, for the very first time, the DLG has awarded Ricola ‘Prize for Long-Standing Product Quality’. In order to receive this recognition, foodmanufacturers have to voluntarily allow the DLG experts to test their products. Apart from this, companies need to participate in this quality test consecutively for five years, receiving at least three awards per award cycle. A company can receive the ‘Prize for Long-Standing Product Quality’ only after the fifth successful year of participation.
Ricola has also recently launched a new limited edition sugar-free herb drop flavour, Tangy Berry, to beat the summer heat. Each herb drop contains Sea Buckthorn berries juice and the refreshing and soothing benefit of Ricola’s unique 13-herb blend, invented by its founder, Emil Richterich, in 1940.
