Singapore commuters shop at Guardian's virtual pop-up store

During the 2015 year-end festive season, Guardian Health & Beauty set up an experimental pop-up store in Singapore which allowed local commuters to shop and pick up gifts on their commute home.

Last month, through the pop-up store, commuters were able to shop virtually off the train platform at City Hall MRT station, allowing them to skip the long queues or traffic jams. Commuters could simply scan the QR code of health and beauty products they want, click ‘buy’ and have their purchases delivered to an address at a date and time of their choice within two days in one seamless transaction.

The virtual pop-up store boasted a wide selection of 1,600 personal, health and beauty-care products.

Users were able to use a QR code reader such as the i-nigma app, available on Google Play or the Apple App Store, to scan the unique QR codes for each product.

“More consumers are using their mobile devices on the go. To meet this rising trend, Guardian is bringing their shopping lists to where they are. We have curated a list of items that include daily essentials and festive gift sets to spare shoppers the inconvenience of carrying bulky items on public transport. They scan, click ‘buy’, and we take it to their doorstep. It is easy, speedy and fuss-free,” said Sarah Boyd, CEO, Guardian Health & Beauty.
