Central Department Store invests $109.38m to transform Central Chidlom into a luxury department store

Central Chidlom is projected to open in December this year.

Central Department Store, a subsidiary under the Central Retail Corporation, invested over $109.38m (THB4b) to convert Central Chidlom into the luxury department store, The Store of Bangkok.

The department store is envisioned with a “one-stop-shopping” experience through world-class design, elegant architecture and curated selection of luxury brands.

The new Central Chidlom will feature enhanced architecture with wide-open spaces, a vibrant façade and a Sky Bridge, aiming to enhance the mall experience for Thai shoppers.

The department store will house the fashion-centred areas Luxe Galerie and Shoes Avenue, the beauty and wellness section Beauty Galerie, and the youth-centred space Sneakers Boulevard, as well as a wide array of dining destinations and customer lounges.

“Evolving over more than five decades alongside Thai customers and the retail industry, today marks another significant step as Central Chidlom ventures towards becoming a luxury department store,” Natira Boonsri, CEO of the Central Department Store Group, said.
