Food, healthcare products are top gift choices for New Year: report

Shopping cash coupons are also among the top choices.

People in Hong Kong are becoming more health-conscious following the pandemic, with healthcare-related products becoming a top choice as a gift for the Chinese New Year.

In a statement, Kantar said gifts are no longer limited to food such as fruits and snacks but they are still the best option when choosing gifts for family members at 89%.

This is followed closely by healthcare products at 87%, and shopping cash coupons at 80%.

Around 41% of the people choose to buy fitness, health and beauty care products as gifts, whilst 72% use the lai-see money to buy fitness equipment and healthcare products for themselves.

For work partners and colleagues, people choose cash coupons, whilst wine is the most popular gift for bosses and customers.
