Ingka expands omnichannel strategy with new IKEA store in Shanghai
It integrates digital displays with physical shopping.
Ingka Group has opened the IKEA Shanghai Linkong store, a key move in its omnichannel growth strategy.
The new location integrates digital displays with physical shopping to improve the customer experience.
“China is one of the most important strategic markets for IKEA and we are committed to it,” said Sara Del Fabbro, deputy retail manager at Ingka Group. “We have been present in China for the past 26 years and we see many opportunities to further grow here and contribute to the local economy and communities.”
The store covers 21,620 square meters and features over 9,500 products, including 4,700 available for same-day pickup. It also includes a 450-seat Swedish restaurant and a Swedish Food Market for customers.
Located within Livat Shanghai, China's largest meeting place, the IKEA Shanghai Linkong store is part of a development that includes five new office towers and one of the largest IKEA office spaces.
The new store complements existing IKEA locations in Shanghai, serving a community of nearly 800,000 residents and 140,000 office workers.
With this opening, Ingka now operates 39 IKEA stores and 10 Livat meeting places in China.
