Philippine stores offer freebies to vaccinated customers

The local government called for businesses to offer such discounts and other perks.

At least 20 establishments in Baguio City, Philippines are offering product discounts or freebies to their clients who have been vaccinated against COVID-19, the city’s local government announced through its social media channel.

Some of the establishments giving discounts and freebies include Zark's Burger, David Salon, Chili's, The SM Store, DC, Auntie Anne's, Artwork, Mesa, Jollibee, Mc Donalds, Macao Imperial Tea, Koomi, Manam, The Travel Club, Kureji, Potato Corner, Buffalo's Wings N' Things, Tiger Sugar, Mango Tree Cafe, and Mang Inasal.

To encourage more people hesitant to take vaccines, the city’s local government and the Baguio Tourism Council recently raised a public call for businesses to offer discounts and other perks to customers who have gone through the protection of being vaccinated.

Whilst perks and discounts are not mandatory from establishments, vaccinees will simply show their vaccination cards or vaccination QR code to the respective establishments.
