Suntory Group posts nearly 20% profit growth in 2022

Its profit stood at JPY136.2b, approximately US$1.01b.

Suntory Group reported its profit grew by 19.5% year-on-year to JPY136.2b, approximately US$1.01b, in 2022. 

The company noted it actively expanded its businesses across three key segments, Beverages and Foods, Alcoholic Beverages, and Others, both domestically and abroad.

Over the same period, Suntory’s revenue climbed by 16.1%YoY to JPY2.97t including excise taxes; whilst its operating income rose by 11.7% to JPY276.5b. 

“In the fiscal year ending 31 December 2023, the forecast for revenue including excise taxes is JPY3.12t (up 5% year on year), revenue excluding excise taxes is JPY2.81t (up 5.7% year on year), operating income is JPY280b (up 1.3% year on year), and profit attributable to owners of the company is JPY140b (up 2.8% year on year),” the company noted.
