Thailand’s Lotus launches employee-free smart store

The store uses artificial intelligence to enable customers to shop.

Lotus opened the Lotus’s Pick & Go by True Digital store which is a fully-automated, smart store without employees by leveraging artificial intelligence.

In a statement, True Digital, the partner of Lotus, said smart retail platform True Virgo AI will support the retailer’s digital business transformation.

Monchai Intharapornudom, Senior Vice President Business Operations Development Division at Lotus, said that through artificial intelligence, said the system will automatically calculate product prices and connect to a customer’s TrueMoney Wallet. Customers would only need to scan a QR Code via the  TrueMoney Wallet app.

The smart store, with an area of 30 square metres located in Lotu North Ratchaphruek, offers over 400 product, more than 90% of which is beverages and snacks and 10% is general everyday goods
