UNIQLO opens door to London’s Regent Street

Fast Retailing noted this is its “most significant store” under the brand to date.

UNIQLO has opened its doors to London’s Regent Street, which Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. claimed as its “most significant store” to date.

The store, which has an area of 1,900 square metres, features the heritage of London’s most iconic shopping street.

“Regent Street holds a special significance for UNIQLO as it was the location of one of the first stores that we opened outside of our home market in Japan, 20 years ago," Taku Morikawa, CEO UNIQLO Europe.

“The store was designed to reflect the Spirit of London and aims to make our LifeWear offering more accessible and sustainable for our loyal customers who have supported us in the UK for these past 20 years."

According to Fast Retailing, its UNIQLO Regent Street store brings emphasis on keeping operations sustainable through initiatives, such as the RE-UNIQLO circular program which uses Repair and Recycle bins.

The UNIQLO Repair Studio will provide a repair service based on the Japanese Sashiko stitching technique, which encourages customers to mend, embellish and upcycle clothes.

The UNIQLO Regent Street also provided space for Fast Retailing’s Theory store, which was created with Architecture studio Sybarite.
