AS Watson Group names Watsons China co-managing directors

They will replace CEO Kulvinder Birring.

AS Watson Group has appointed Fred Chan and Vivian Nie as co-managing directors of Watsons China, effective April 2024.

In a statement, AS Watsons said they will succeed current CEO Kulvinder Birring who will be appointed as the CEO of CK Hutchinson Holdings subsidiary, Marionnaud Group.

Chan joined Watsons China in 2011 as operations director of South China. He was promoted to general manager of Sales Operations in 2023. He contributed to boosting sales and played a crucial role in implementing the company’s Offline + Online strategy.

Meanwhile, Nie became part of Watsons China in 2018 where she served as marketing director and was eventually promoted to general manager for Customer Growth in 2021. She also held the responsibility for the trading function.

Nie contributed to the development of the MyStore O+O business model on Wechat Enterprise Platform and OptimO, Watsons’ retail media business.
