A.S. Watson to reduce its electricity use by 30% in 2030

The retailer aims for 100% of its electricity to come from renewable sources.

A.S. Watson Group has expressed plans to reduce its electricity intensity by 30% by 2030 compared to 2015, the company revealed through its Social Purpose and 2030 Sustainability Vision.

With this, it aims to have 100% of its electricity come from renewable sources in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Belgium. At the same time, the retailer is looking to reduce its greenhouse gas emission by 40% over the same period.

It plans to eliminate its use of unnecessary packaging, avoid over-packaging, and phase out PVC. The company is also aiming to have 20% of its plastic packaging composed of recycled plastic content by 2025
