Wholesaler Metcash acquires 3 firms for $363.4m
The companies it obtained were Superior Food, Bianco Construction, and Alpine Truss
Metcash has entered into binding agreements to acquire a 100% stake in SFG Group Holdings (Superior Food), Bianco Construction Supplies, and Alpine Truss with a total enterprise value of $363.4m (A$558.5m).
The acquisition of Superior Food, a leading Australian foodservice distribution business, has a potential enterprise value of up to around $268.3m (A$412.3m).
The move will strengthen and diversify Metcash’s food business.
Meanwhile, Metcash’s purchase of Bianco Construction Supplies, an independent building materials supplier in South Australia, cost around $53.5m (A$82.2m).

Its acquisition of Alpine Truss, one of the largest Frame & Truss operations in the country, is valued at around $41.5m (A$64m).
“The acquisitions unlock substantial shareholder value and build on our track record of disciplined and accretive capital allocation. They also deliver further diversification and resilience to the Group and provide Metcash with an even stronger growth trajectory,” Metcash Group CEO Doug Jones said.
