Deliveroo launches new rapid grocery delivery service in Hong Kong

Grocery deliveries will be done in as little as 10 minutes.

Deliveroo collaborated with PARKnSHOP to launch “Deliveroo Hop” which will offer customers in Hong Kong a rapid grocery delivery in as fast as 10 minutes.

In a statement, Deliveroo said the first Hop store will open in Central, catering to residents in Sai Ying Pun, Sheung Wan, Central, Mid-Levels, and Admiralty.

It will provide access to over 1,200 items from grocery chain shops including PARnSHOP, FUSION, INTERNATIONAL, and TASTE between 7:30 am and 2 am daily. Items available for delivery include condiments, essential grains, produce, meat, ready-to-microwave sets, fruits and veggies, beverages, biscuits and savoury treats, personal care, health and beauty products, snacks for pets and home essentials.

The service will anchor on the deep integration between Deliveroo’s newly-developed grocery management technology and its logistics network of over 12,000 delivery riders in Hong Kong, it said.

“We believe this new service will bring a range of new benefits to our grocery partners, helping them reach more consumers, increase customer choices and achieve business growth. We look forward to expanding our new service to more locations across Hong Kong with PARKnSHOP and will continue to invest in our on-demand grocery services,” said Andrew Hui, general manager at Deliveroo Hong Kong.

Delivery Hop, which is now present in five markets, also aims to enable real-time inventory control and provide reliable item availability to consumers using its grocery management technology.

Deliveroo started its partnership with PARKnSHOP, collaborating initially with 50 stores in June 2021. It has expanded to add 200 branches where groceries were delivered in as little as 30 minutes.

Customers will receive a HK$100 discount on their first order with a minimum spend of HK$200, as part of the launch. This will be followed by a HK$30 discount on their second, third, and fourth orders with a minimum spend of HK$150.

The delivery platform will also donate surplus food from the Hop store to the Feeding Hong Kong organisation as part of its Full Life campaign.
