FedEx, eBay partner to boost APAC e-commerce market

eBay sellers in the region can get competitive discount rates.

Express transportation firm FedEx Express, and e-commerce marketplace platform eBay teamed up to offer sellers in the Asia Pacific region delivery service options at competitive rates.

In a joint statement, the companies said eBay sellers in the region can provide consumers with premium delivery options through FedEx where they can get discount rates.

The logistics company will also offer services that will support cross-border e-commerce such as FedEx Ecletrocinc Trade Documents, and FedEx Home Delivery which now delivers daily, and offers a range of flexible and returns options.

It will also offer FedEx Hold-at-Location which allows consumers to have their packages delivered to the grocery stores, pharmacies and FedEx Office locations of their choice.

eBay sellers in the region would also have their own accounts to use any FedEx shipping solutions and they can contact the transportation firm directly for pickups and billing questions, order shipping forms or other delivery supplies, reroute packages, and manage their My FedEx Rewards account.

This collaboration will help propel e-merchants – especially small business owners – amidst booming e-commerce in the region, driven by consumers’ changing behaviours toward shopping online accelerated by the pandemic,” they said.

The services will be available in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam in the first phase, and will be expanded to other markets in the region in the next fiscal year.
