UNIQLO announces major expansion in Asia, Europe, and US

The company is preparing to open its largest store in South Korea.

UNIQLO has announced that it plans to open more than 20 major stores across Asia, Europe, and North America this fall.

In Asia, the company said it is preparing to open its largest store in South Korea, located in the heart of Seoul. This flagship location will introduce new services like UTme! and RE.UNIQLO, offering customisation and sustainability-focused options to customers.

It will also open its first roadside store outside Japan, situated in Bangkok, Thailand, as part of a strategy to engage customers through innovative store design and services. In India, where UNIQLO has operated since 2019, new locations are planned in several major cities.

Moreover, in Japan, UNIQLO is focusing on both urban and residential areas. The retailer will open five major stores, including a flagship location in Shinjuku, Tokyo. To improve convenience, the company also plans to revamp its store network, capitalising on the increase in inbound tourism.

In Europe, the expansion continues with UNIQLO opening its first stores in Poland and Rotterdam, Netherlands. Rome will see a second store at Rome Termini railway station, whilst London will welcome a new location at Coal Drops Yard near King’s Cross. Other openings include additional stores in Copenhagen and Amsterdam.

Across North America, UNIQLO is making its debut in Texas with five new stores set to open this fall in cities such as Houston and Dallas. The brand will also expand its presence on the West Coast with six new stores in California.
