UNIQLO names COO to lead global expansion

Board Director Daisuke Tsukagoshi’s appointment will take effect on 1 September.

UNIQLO has appointed its daily operations Global CEO and Board Director Daisuke Tsukagoshi as the UNIQLO Co.’s executive director, president and chief operating officer, effective 1 September.

In a statement, Uniqlo said Tsukagoshi’s appointment is part of the company’s goal to ramp up the company's growth globally.

Executive Director, Chairman and President, Tadashi Yanai will continue its managerial decision-making role in his new position as the company’s CEO.

“The Company aims to further strengthen management function through creation of a team that brings together managers in each market and accelerates a framework that drives the Company's teamwork-focused Zen-in Keiei management principle,” Uniqlo said. 

“This framework will help ensure that all divisions coordinate effectively, and that all employees adopt a managerial mindset,” it added.
