J&T Express expands network to Brazil

This is the second market it entered in Latin America, following Mexico.

J&T Express launched its network in Brazil, the second market it entered in Latin America, bringing its footprint to 12 countries, the international logistics firm said in a statement.

Charles Hou, J&T Express group vice president, said launching in Brazil, the fifth-largest country by land area and largest economy in the region, is an “integral step” in expanding in Latin America. 

“The success of the networks launched in Mexico and Brazil within a short time frame further demonstrates the benefits of the regional sponsorship model in our global expansion. It is also an important step for the company to continue to further cultivate emerging markets and expand its strategic global footprint,” Hou said.

The company also said that Brazil also has the biggest and most developed e-commerce market in the region, citing data from The Brazilian Electronic Commerce Association that e-commerce sales in the country grew 74% in 2021 compared to 2019.

J&T Express Brazil Head Andy Wang said they also partnered with J&T International to provide one-stop cross-border services to e-commerce merchants which will include customs clearance, overseas warehousing, and last-mile delivery.

The logistics firm is also expanding its network in Singapore, which aims to be a regional e-commerce hub, as part of its internationalisation strategy by establishing service points and new warehouses such as the Changi Airfreight Center “to ensure greater efficiency and security of quality delivery services offered to both local and regional customers.”

Aside from Brazil, Mexico, and Singapore, J&T Express has a presence in China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, serving over two billion people.
