IKEA launches AI literacy training for employees

This is part of its commitment to integrating AI technology whilst emphasizing human values.

IKEA Retail has rolled out an AI literacy program to train 3,000 co-workers and 500 leaders by the end of fiscal year 2024.

The AI literacy program features a diverse curriculum tailored to meet the distinct needs and roles of co-workers across the organisation, including AI Fundamentals, Responsible AI, Mastering Gen AI, and Algorithmic Training for Ethics. These courses are designed to provide a deep understanding of AI across different roles within IKEA.

‘’This effort is a testament to the IKEA belief in the power of its people to harness technology for greater creativity, efficiency, and results,” said Parag Parekh, chief digital officer of IKEA Retail (Ingka Group).

‘’Our vision is clear. It’s about enhancing the capabilities of co-workers through technology, ensuring that IKEA continues to be the place where innovation and compassion go hand in hand,” he added.
